Type: General step

Renames a column in a pipeline.

Step name

Defines the name for a step. Provide a meaningful name so that anyone who edits steps in a pipeline will be able to identify the purpose of a step.

For example, "Rename AddressLine1 to Street".

Column

Specifies the column to rename. Click to view the list of column names. Column names listed here correspond to the column names in the dataset inspection table. Click in the drop-down list to select a column name. Alternatively, click a column heading in the inspection table to select the corresponding name in this box.

New name

Enter the new name for the column in this box.

CAUTION:
If the new name is the same as the name of an existing field in the cataloged dataset, values in the renamed column may overwrite values already in the dataset field.

Save

Click this button to close settings and save changes to the transformation settings.

Preview

Click this button to preview the results of the transformation settings.

Cancel

Click this button to close settings for this transformations without saving any changes.
