Governance tab helps you define business and technical asset types and attributes, establishing a business context for data. It specifies data types and definitions for fields on asset types, enabling the system to understand field meanings and properties.

Navigate to Configuration > Governance to configure the following:

  • Configure technical asset types for the various technologies used across your infrastructure and applications.
  • Refer to Technical asset types and Fields for more information.
  • Set up and organize business asset types to effectively manage, track, and use them for optimal business performance.
  • Refer to Business asset types and Fields for more information.
  • Configure model asset types to represent the structural and behavioral aspects of data within your organization.
  • With Models, define and visualize data relationships, constraints, and processes, facilitating better data management and quality.
  • Refer to Models for more information.
  • Create policy asset types that are guidelines or rules that govern how data is handled within the organization.
  • With Policies, ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal standards, and help in maintaining the integrity and security of data.

  • Define a set of relationship types that are specific to the requirements of your organization.

  • Create custom predicates to determine your own types of relationships where multiple relationship types can be created between the same set of assets.
