- Alternatively, you can manually navigate through the connection list to locate the desired connection.
Test a connection
To test a connection during creation:
- As you add a new datasource, you will be prompted to configure a connection in the Add Datasource wizard.
- Fill in the all the required fields, ensuring that the connection details are correctly entered.
- Once all the fields are completed, click Test and the system will begin establishing a connection.
- If the test is successful, you will see a Success message.
- Proceed to click Next to continue configuring the datasource.
- Access the datasource where the existing connection is located.
- Find the specific connection that you wish to test.
- Click the ellipsis next to the connection name and select Test.
- If the test is successful, you will see a "Success" message.
Reasons for connection test failure:
Connection tests can fail for various reasons. Common problems may include:
- The connection does not have access to the server or database. Network security can block connections to a server or database.
- Data Integrity Suite is unable to reach the data source host machine.
- Credentials for a database are not valid or do not provide necessary access permissions.
- The database or data warehouse is offline.
You can create and save a connection without testing it. You can also save a connection that fails a connection test. This allows you to configure a connection and use it after you resolve known issues.
