Policy asset types are predefined categories that define the structure and characteristics of policies within the Data Integrity Suite. They serve as templates for creating specific policies, such as a Data Privacy Policy or a Data Retention Policy.
For instance, a Data Privacy Policy asset type helps organizations establish guidelines for handling personal data in compliance with regulations like GDPR.
From these templates, organizations create policy assets, which are the actual instances containing specific rules and details. For example, a GDPR Compliance Policy outlines how to comply with data protection laws. An Email Retention Policy specifies how long emails should be stored before deletion.
Organizations can also create child policy assets under a parent policy asset for more specific guidelines. For example, a Data Access Policy can be a child of the Data Privacy Policy, specifying who can access personal data and under what conditions. A Social Media Retention Policy can be a child of the Data Retention Policy, specifying how long social media interactions should be retained.
To create, edit, or delete a policy asset type, navigate to and follow the same procedures as for Model asset types, including the steps to create Levels for the policy asset type.
After creating a policy asset type, proceed to to create policy assets for that type.
