You can create relationships between assets to understand how assets relate to and impact other types of governed assets. Establishing these relationships allows you to identify dependencies, streamline operations, and enhance decision-making. For instance, by linking financial assets to operational assets, a user can better assess the financial implications of operational changes. Additionally, understanding the relationships can help in risk management by highlighting how the failure of one asset may affect others, ultimately leading to more informed strategic planning and resource allocation.

  1. Navigate to Governance > Business Assets to view the list of configured and cataloged business asset types.
  2. Select an asset type from the list to access the page displaying all assets within that category.
  3. Click on an asset name from the list to be directed to the Details tab.
  4. Go to the Relationships tab to view all relationship types. You can also click the Filter button on the side panel to see a comprehensive list of relationship types along with their counts. Check the box to display only filtered relationship types on the page.
  5. click Create Relationship to establish a new relationship for the selected asset.
  6. Choose a relationship type from the drop-down menu to view a list of available assets for creating a relationship.
  7. Click on Select Assets to display the list of available assets.
  8. Select an asset from the list and click Create Relationship to finalize the process.
  9. On the Relationships page, click the Information button to open the Information panel for the selected relationship type. In this panel, you can view the established relationship and all associated assets in their respective tabs.
Note: Only a single asset can be related for many-to-one relationship types.

To delete a relationship:

  1. Go to the Relationships tab to view all relationship type.
  2. Click the ellipsis next to a relationship type name and select Delete.
  3. A Delete Relationship dialog will appear. Confirm that you wish to remove the relationship and click Delete.
Warning: A successful deletion cannot be undone.
