You can create relationships between technical assets to understand how they relate to and impact other types of governed assets. Establishing these relationships allows you to gain insights into dependencies among hardware, software, and network components, which is crucial for effective troubleshooting and maintenance. This understanding leads to improved resource allocation, reduced downtime, and enhanced overall IT infrastructure management, ultimately supporting better alignment with business goals and technological advancements.
- Go to to view the list of configured and cataloged business asset types.
- Select an asset type from the list to access the page displaying all assets within that category.
- Click an asset name from the list to be directed to the Details tab.
- Go to the Relationships tab to view all relationship types. You can also click the Filter button on the side panel to see a comprehensive list of relationship types along with their counts. Check the box to display only filtered relationship types on the page.
- click Create Relationship to establish a new relationship for the selected asset.
- Choose a relationship type from the dropdown menu to view a list of available assets for creating a relationship.
- Click Select Assets to display the list of available assets.
- Select an asset from the list and click Create Relationship to finalize the process.
- On the Relationships page, click the Information button to open the Information panel for the selected relationship type. In this panel, you can view the established relationship and all associated assets in their respective tabs.
Note: Only a single asset can be related
for many-to-one relationship types.
To delete a relationship:
- Go to the Relationships tab to view all relationship type.
- Click the ellipsis next to a relationship type name and select Delete.
- A Delete Relationship dialog will appear. Confirm that you want to remove the relationship and click Delete.
Warning: A successful deletion
cannot be undone.
