Tags are metadata elements used to label, categorize, and identify data assets. Tag types are predefined categories that organize tags and define their nature or domain, helping maintain a structured tagging system. Each tag type can have multiple tags, allowing for granular classification of data.

To create a tag type:
- Go to .
- Click Create Tag Type and enter a Name and Description for the new tag type.
- Click Create Tag Type again to save the tag type.
- Add a Tag field to the asset types where you want to enable tagging.
- You can now create tags within this tag type.
Warning: You cannot create a
new tag with the same name as an existing tag or use the
pipe symbol | in a tag name.
These menu options are available when you click the ellipsis next
to a tag type name:
- View Information: Opens the Information panel on the right.
- Open: Opens the Details tab in the current browser tab.
- Open in New Tab: Opens the Details tab in a new browser tab.
- Edit: Modifies the tag type details.
- Delete: Removes the tag type. All associated tags are also deleted.
