Tags help in the easy retrieval and management of data by providing a way to group similar data assets together.
To create a tag:
- Navigate to .
- Click Create Tag to enter a Name and select a Tag Type for categorization.
- Click Create Tag again to save the new tag.
Tip: You cannot create a new tag with
the same name as an existing tag or use the pipe symbol | in a tag
name.
To view the details of an individual tag:
- Click on the tag's name to display the information panel for that specific tag, which includes the Tagged Assets tab.
- The Tagged Assets tab shows all assets that have been assigned the selected tag.
- This tab contains the following columns, which can be used to
sort the information:
- Asset: Lists each asset that the selected tag is assigned to.
- Asset Type: Indicates the type of asset.
- Tags: Displays all tags assigned to the individual asset.
- Added By: Shows the user who added the tag.
- Date Added: Provides the date when the tag was added.
To edit or delete a tag:
- Navigate to .
- Click the ellipsis next to the tag name to view the available
options:
- Edit: Click to edit the tag details and save. The tag will be updated on all assets where it is used.
- Delete: Click to delete the tag. The selected tag will be removed from all assets where it was previously referenced.
Consolidate tags
Sometimes, you may need to merge two or more tags into a single tag. For instance, consider the following synonymous tags:
- Investment
- Investments
To consolidate tags:
- On the Tags page, select the checkbox for the tags you want to merge.
- From the menu at the top of the page, choose Consolidate.
- When prompted, select the tag to keep from the table, then click Consolidate. All assets listed will be tagged with the selected tag, and the other tags will be deleted.
Tip: You can also consolidate
tags if you attempt to rename a tag to an existing
name.
