When you do not see an indicator for the displayed Kafka topic targets and the schema registry subjects, that means they have all been created. When you see the red icon (X), you must enable the Create topic if it does not exist and Create subject if it does not exist options in order to click Next before creating the topics and subjects.
- Select a table in the dataset where the subject does not exist denoted by this icon (!).
Note: You cannot perform a bulk action by selecting all the tables where the subjects do not exist and enable Create subject if it does not exist option and click Next.
- Click Map Fields to open the Map Fields dialog to see all default mappings.
- Make some change and click Save. The subject with its schema is created.
- If you did not create new subjects but made other changes to the Target fields and clicked Save,
Newestdisplays in the Version dropdown. Each time there are changes to the Target fields and Save is clicked, a version is added to the Version dropdown.Note: You can freely switch between these versions, but only one version can be committed to use during replication. If you switch between versions, ignore column information will not be stored. You will have to perform those changes again. - Create new subjects if you have removed some of the fields from the Target.
- Specify the properties for your selected connection.
- Click Test to verify that your credentials are valid for the properties you entered.
Note: If the Test button is unavailable, make sure you have entered values in all required fields.
- Click Save to add the new connection.
