The auto generation of asset description feature in the Data Integrity Suite leverages AI to automatically generate meaningful descriptions for data fields, simplifying the work of Data Stewards. It focuses on generating descriptions at the individual data field level thereby improving the quality and usability of metadata in the catalog.

- From the main navigation menu click .
- Click any column in the page associated with the field for which you would want to auto generate the description. This would display the data field details in the side panel within the list view.
- Within the details tab, in the description section, click Generate.
- This would auto generate a description for the associated field.
- Once the description is generated, you can perform the following operations
- Retry: This option would regenerate a new description.
- Save: This would add the description to the respective field.
- Cancel: Deletes the generated description.
- Click Save to add the generated description to the field.
The description can be generated from the data field details page.
- From the main navigation menu, click .
- Click the respective field name for which you would want to auto generate the description.
- This would display the details of the associated field.
- Within the description section, click Generate.
- Once the description is generated, you can perform the following operations:
- Retry: This option would regenerate a new description.
- Save: This would add the description to the respective field.
- Cancel: Deletes the generated description.
- Click Save to add the generated description to the field.
After the description is saved, it can be modified from the edit page in assets.
You can also generate or modify a description from the data field edit page.
- From the main navigation menu click .
- Click the respective field for which you would want to auto generate the description. This would display the details of the associated field.
- Within the details tab, click Edit.
- Scroll down to the description box.
- Click Generate.
- Once the description is generated, you can perform the following operations:
- Retry: This option would regenerate a new description.
- Clear: Deletes the generated description.
- Click Save to add the generated description to the field.
The generated asset descriptions can be edited to refine it, you can regenerate the descriptions for alternative suggestions or discard the description if they are not satisfactory.
