The auto asset description feature in the Data Integrity Suite leverages AI to automatically generate meaningful descriptions for Business terms , simplifying the work of data stewards and enhancing data governance. With this enhancement, Data Stewards will be able to add meaningful descriptions to the business terms without having deep knowledge of the tables and columns.

- Click .
- Navigate to the Business Assets tab.
- Click Create Asset Type.
- Create one of the supported asset types.
- After the asset type is created successfully, click the respective asset type and navigate to the fields tab.
- Click Create Field.
- Create a new text field named Description.
Once the required assets are added in the Governance tab within Configuration, you can access these in the Governance tab from the main navigation menu.
- From the main navigation menu, click Governance.
- Within the business assets tab, select one of the created business assets.
- The description for the business assets can be generated from three sources:
- Asset details side panel
- Asset details page
- Asset details edit page
- From the main navigation menu click .
- Select the business asset for which you want to generate the description.
- Within the assets page, click any column associated with the asset for which you want to auto generate the description. This would display the asset details in the side panel.
- Within the details tab, in the description section, click Generate. This would auto generate a description for the associated asset.
- Once the description is generated, you can perform the following operations:
- Retry: This option will regenerate a new description.
- Save: This would add the description to the respective asset.
- Cancel: Deletes the generated description.
Click Save to add the generated description to the asset.
The associated description can be generated from the asset details page.
- From the main navigation menu click Governance > Business Assets.
- Select the business asset for which you want to generate the description.
- Click the asset name.
- This would display the details of the asset.
- Within the description section, click Generate.
- Once the description is generated, you can perform the following operations:
- Retry: This option will regenerate a new description.
- Save: This would add the description to the respective asset.
- Cancel: Deletes the generated description.
Click Save to add the generated description to the asset.
- After the description is saved, it can be modified from the edit page in assets.
You can generate a description from the edit asset page.
- From the main navigation menu click .
- Select the business asset for which you want to generate the description.
- Click the asset name.
- Within the asset details page, click Edit.
- In the edit asset page, within the description section, click Generate.
- Once the description is generated, you can perform the following operations:
- Retry: This option will regenerate a new description.
- Clear: Deletes the generated description.
- Click Save to add the generated description to the asset.
The generated Asset descriptions can be edited to refine it, regenerate the descriptions for alternative suggestions or discard the description if it is not satisfactory.
