Selective profiling allows you to control profiling behavior at the asset level by configuring the Profile Level field. This enables targeted profiling, optimizing performance and focusing on relevant data assets.

To configure selective profiling:

  1. Navigate to Catalog > Datasets.
Tip: This step applies similarly to other asset levels such as database, schema, or field. The profiling parameter can be configured at each of the asset levels.
  2. Click on the required asset to open its Details page.
  3. Click the Edit option to open the Edit Asset screen.
  4. On the Edit Asset screen, set the Profile Level value to 0.
Note: The value set at a higher level (e.g., database) automatically applies to its subordinate levels (database > schema > dataset > field).
  5. Click Save to apply the changes.

After saving, the system continues cataloging the asset, but profiling is disabled. You can confirm this by checking that no new profiling statistics are generated for the asset or its sub-components.

Important: Only the 0 value in the Profile Level field disables profiling and won't generate profiling statistics.
