Modify existing technical asset types to refine their properties, relationships, and metadata structure within the Data Integrity Suite. Editing asset types allows you to adapt your technical metadata governance as your infrastructure and application requirements evolve.

You can edit technical asset types from either the Containment or Inheritance hierarchy views to update their properties and relationships.
  1. In Configuration > Governance > Technical Assets locate the asset type you want to edit under Containment or Inheritance hierarchy view.
  2. Click the ellipsis on the asset type row and choose Edit. The Edit Asset Type dialog appears.
  3. Edit the details or select a different Parent Asset Type as needed.
    Note:
    • The Inherit from and Asset type purpose fields will be disabled and cannot be edited once assets have been created for the asset type.
    • Predicate to parent field cannot be modified or removed while relationships exist for an asset type.
  4. Click Save to save your edits.
The updated asset type configuration is applied to the system. Any changes to fields, relationships, or properties will be reflected in the hierarchy views and will affect how technical assets are managed and displayed.
