Upon accessing the Catalog, the default sort order for viewing assets is in ascending alphabetical order by Name, taking into account the case sensitivity.

It is important to note that the specific name being sorted depends on the tab currently selected. You can apply sorting to each asset tab in Catalog.

  • The sort order is maintained when switching between list and card views.
  • If a search or filter is applied after sorting, the sort order persists.
  • Sorting preferences are remembered when leaving and returning to each catalog tab

Follow these steps to customize the sorting of your assets for an efficient workflow:

  • Card view

    • Sort order: Locate the Sort icon, which is available only in the card view next to the Filter button. Click on this icon to sort your orders.
    • Reversing sort order: To reverse the direction of the sort (e.g., from A to Z to Z to A), hover over the sort icon and click it to reverse the order. This action can be repeated to toggle between ascending and descending order.
    • Changing sorting options: This drop down allows you to select any columns to sort by. From here, you can select different sorting criteria such as by Datasource, Data type, Fields and so on. Select your desired option to apply the new sorting criteria. The cards will now be sorted in ascending order based on your selection.
  • List view

    • Sorting using column headers: Each column header in the list view features an arrow. Click on these arrows to sort the column either in ascending or descending order. The sorted column header will be highlighted in purple to indicate the active sort criteria.
    • Handling identical values: When multiple entries in a column have identical values, a secondary sort based on the name column (1st column) is automatically applied. If the name column itself has identical values, the secondary sort criterion is based on the nearest column to provide a clear sorting order.
