Search and sort assets - Precisely Data Integrity Suite

1. Go to Catalog and select a page: Datasources to view your datasources, Datasets to view tables and data collections within your datasources, or Fields to view individual columns within your datasets.
2. Choose a view to display assets: Card view shows assets as tiles with asset name, type, location, field count, quality and governance scores, and status, or List view shows assets in a list with sortable columns for asset name, quality score, governance score, status, asset type, and asset location.
   What's changed: In the new user experience, Table View replaces List View. For more information on the new experience, see About the new user experience.
3. View asset details by selecting a card in card view to open a detail panel showing the asset's description, type, location, business terms, and fields, or by reviewing score columns in list view that show numeric percentages with color-coded indicators (green for good 90-100%, orange for average 80-90%, red for poor 0-80%), plus status and datasource type columns.

1. Review the hierarchical path to confirm you have the correct asset, as the full path eliminates ambiguity when multiple assets have similar names.
2. Apply filters to narrow your results when you have many similarly named assets, using filters to isolate the data you need (see the related topics for filtering options for datasources, datasets, and fields).
3. Check the Selected Datasets or Selected Fields panel on the right before confirming your selection to review your choices and remove any assets if needed.

Use the global Catalog search bar to locate any data asset within Data Integrity Suite, whether you are searching by business metrics, technical names, or column names.

1. Select the search bar on the Catalog page to view your Recent Searches and Search History, which allow you to quickly re-run previous queries.
2. Type your search term to see autocomplete suggestions and a preview list of relevant matches with asset name, type, and metadata (you can search by business metrics, technical names, or column names).
3. Use quotation marks around a phrase (for example, "customer contact data") to find exact matches in asset names, tags, or descriptions.
4. Select an item in the preview list to open its detail page and go directly to the asset without viewing all search results.
5. Press Enter or select View all results to see all matching assets with their name, type, asset location, and scores, then use the filters on the page to narrow results by asset type, location, or other attributes.
6. Select an asset row to preview its details in a side panel without leaving the results page.
   Tip: Use business metrics for high-level concepts, SQL syntax or table names for technical assets, or column names to find specific fields. Use filters to narrow results, and save time by reusing recent searches.

Access the search bar from any asset detail page or secondary page within the Catalog to initiate a new search without returning to the Catalog landing page.

1. Find the search bar on asset detail pages at the top of all asset detail pages, whether you are viewing technical assets (tables, databases, APIs) or business assets (business terms, metrics, glossary items).
2. Use the search bar from any secondary page (Details, Lineage, Sample, Profile, Relationships, Rules, Scoring, Assignments, or Change History).
3. Access your search history and recently viewed assets by selecting the search field to see your Recent Searches and Recently Accessed assets, then select any item to quickly go to it.
4. Open a recently accessed asset by selecting it to go directly to its detail page.
5. Run a new search by entering search criteria and pressing Enter or selecting View all results to go to the Catalog landing page with your results (the Catalog retains your filters and search preferences).
6. Use autocomplete suggestions as you type to see the system provide autocomplete suggestions and relevant matches, just as on the Catalog landing page.

Apply sorting to assets in the Catalog to organize them by different criteria in both card and list views. Sort order is maintained when you switch between list and card views, apply filters or searches, and when you leave and return to a catalog page.

1. In card view, select the Sort icon next to Filter to open sort options.
2. Select a sorting criterion: Datasource, Data type, or Fields.
3. Select the sort icon again to reverse the sort order between ascending and descending.
4. In list view, select the arrow in any column header to sort that column.
   What's changed: In the new user experience, Table View replaces List View. For more information on the new experience, see About the new user experience.
5. Select again to toggle between ascending and descending order.
6. When entries have identical values, a secondary sort by name applies automatically.

Use breadcrumbs to move between asset types and individual assets, and to jump back to higher levels in the hierarchy without using the browser back button. Breadcrumbs appear at the top of each asset detail page and show your location in the Catalog structure. For example: Catalog > Datasets > Sales Database > Customer Data. All elements except the last are clickable.

1. Select any breadcrumb link to jump to that level.
   • Catalog returns to the homepage.
   • Asset type links go to that category's landing page.
   • The current asset name is non-clickable.
   • Parent assets are clickable when viewing nested assets.
2. Select the dataset name in the breadcrumb to view the full dataset and go to related assets without returning to search results.
