Create and manage relationships between technical assets and between technical and business assets. View related business context inline in asset details, filter relationships by type, and delete relationships when no longer needed.

Go to Catalog > Technical.
What's changed: In the new user experience, the Technical Assets page appears as Technical. For more information on the new experience, see About the new user experience.
- Select an asset type to view all assets in that category.
- Select an asset name to open its details view.
- Go to the Relationships page.
- Select Create Relationship.

Choose a relationship type from the dropdown menu. Select
Maps to Business Terms for
technical-to-business relationships, or select the
appropriate type for technical-to-technical
relationships.
Note: You can relate only a single asset for many-to-one relationship types.
- Select Select Assets to view available assets.
- Select an asset from the list and select Create Relationship.
- Verify the relationship now appears in the Relationships page. For technical-to-business relationships, related business assets display on the related business assets page of the asset details view.
- Select the Filter button to view all relationship types and their counts.
- Check the box next to a relationship type to display only that type.
- Select the Information button next to a relationship type to view all assets related through that type.

Locate the related business assets page in the
details view.
Note: Related business assets appear as an inline, read-only list.
- Review the related assets. The display shows asset name and type so you can identify the business context for the technical asset.
- Select any related asset to go to its details page.
- The related asset opens in the same view or a new page, depending on your browser settings.
Example: Viewing business terms for a database column
When you open the details view for a database column, the related business assets page displays all associated business terms. For example, a customer information column might show "Customer ID," "Customer Name," and "Customer Email" as links. Select any term to view its definition and understand how the technical asset relates to your business data model.
Delete relationships
Remove relationships between assets when they are no longer needed.
- Locate the relationship you want to delete. Use the Filter option to narrow the list if needed.
- Select the ellipsis next to the relationship type or related asset name and select Delete.
- Review the relationship details in the Delete Relationship dialog to confirm you are deleting the correct relationship.
- Select Delete to remove the relationship immediately.

Verify the relationship no longer appears in the
Relationships page.
Warning: Deletions cannot be undone. Confirm you are deleting the correct relationship before proceeding.
