Score trends provide a visual representation of how rule performance metrics evolve across different time periods. By tracking score trends, you can identify patterns, detect anomalies, and make informed decisions about rule adjustments. Score trends reveal patterns and offer valuable insights when scores deviate from what is typically expected. When deviations occur, users can respond by implementing corrective measures . Score trends are displayed for both Data Governance and Data Quality scores.
- Visualize score changes across specified time periods
- Oversee rule evaluation and adjust the rule as necessary if it yields low scores
- Track rollup metrics for aggregated views
- Identify deviations from expected behavior
- Take corrective actions based on trend analysis
Quality score trends can be viewed from the scoring tab within Catalog for associated data assets or from the Rule scores page within the quality tab for configured rules. Similarly, Governance score trends can be viewed from the scoring tab within catalog or from the rules page within Governance.
View quality score trends
You can visualize the performance of quality scores over time from either the Catalog or the rules page within Quality.
- From the main navigation menu, click Catalog.
- Go to the appropriate tab: All Assets, Datasources, Datasets, or Fields.
- Select the asset for which you want to view the score trend.
- Go to the Scoring tab.
- Switch to the Data Quality tab.
- Click the trend icon next to a generated score.
This will display a graph, showing relevant information based on the asset you choose. For instance, if you select a datasource, the graph displays an overall quality score calculated from its related dimensions. If you pick a dataset, the overall score is determined by the scores associated with its fields.
Details displayed in the graph:
- Graph title: The title changes based on the parameter you selected. It can be a dimension name, asset name, field name, or rule name.
- X-axis: Represents the time period when the scores were generated.
- Y-axis: Represents the scores generated on the respective dates.
- Hover over a point in the graph to view the exact score and the date it was generated.
- Choose a time period (last week, last month, last 3 months, or a custom date) to filter the data displayed on the graph. The options available depend on when the asset was last evaluated. For instance, if an asset's latest evaluation was three months ago, the last month and last week options will be disabled because there aren't any trends for those shorter periods due to the lack of recent evaluations.
- Use the slider to adjust the duration of the graph.
- Click the 'x' icon to close the graph.
View governance score trends
You can visualize the performance of governance scores over time from either the Catalog or the Governance page.
- From the main navigation menu, click Catalog.
- Go to the appropriate tab and select the asset for which you want to view the scoring trend.
- Go to the Scoring tab and select Data Governance.
- Click the trend icon next to the parameter for which a governance score is generated.
A graph appears, showing a visual representation of how your scores are performing over a given time period.
