Field Description
Authentication method Select the authentication method to use for connecting to SAP S/4HANA. Two options are available:
  • Regular: Uses standard username and password authentication.
  • Key Vault: Uses credentials stored securely in a key vault for enhanced security.
When key vault authentication method is used, configure the following fields
Username Specifies the SAP user account used for authentication. The account must have sufficient authorizations to access required metadata objects within SAP S/4HANA.
Password secret path The Password secret path specifies the exact secret name or path within the selected Key Vault where the SAP user password is stored. The value must match the secret identifier configured in the Key Vault.
Processing environment for cataloging Specifies the logical extraction scope used for metadata discovery in the SAP S/4HANA system. The available options include Application Component and Package.
  • Application component: When Application Component is selected, metadata is discovered and organized based on SAP application component hierarchies, enabling functional grouping of objects according to business modules.
  • Package: When Package is selected, metadata is extracted and structured based on SAP development packages, which group technical objects according to development and transport organization.

The selected value determines how objects are discovered, structured, and displayed in the catalog.
