Field Description
Authentication method Select the authentication method to use for connecting to SAP S/4HANA. Two options are available:
  • Regular: Uses standard username and password authentication.
  • Key Vault: Uses credentials stored securely in a key vault for enhanced security.
When regular authentication method is used, configure the following fields
Username Specifies the SAP user account used for authentication. The account must have sufficient authorizations to access required metadata objects within SAP S/4HANA.
Password Specifies the password associated with the SAP user account. The password is securely stored and used during connection validation and metadata extraction
Processing environment for cataloging Specifies the logical scope used for metadata discovery in SAP S/4HANA. The available options include Application Component and Package, and the selected option determines how SAP objects are grouped and extracted.
  • Application Component: When Application Component is selected, metadata is discovered and organized based on SAP application component hierarchies. This approach groups objects according to functional business modules and aligns cataloging with SAP’s functional structure.
  • Package: When Package is selected, metadata is extracted and structured based on SAP development packages. Packages group technical objects according to development and transport organization, enabling cataloging at the technical object level.
