Gio™ AI Assistant analyzes queries in Data Integrity Suite and recommends quality rules tailored to your assets. You can review, edit, and apply rules directly from the interface. After you apply them, Gio™ AI Assistant adds them to your rule repository to support consistent governance. Gio™ AI Assistant recommends multiple rules based on your query and asset context. Data Integrity Suite shows up to three rules initially, and you can request more in the prompt. Each rule displays a name, an optional New tag that identifies newly created rules, a confidence score that shows relevance to your query, an expression, and a reasoning description. You can choose which rules to apply or edit before saving them to the repository.

With this functionality, you can:
  • Request rule recommendations or specify the exact rule you want using natural language queries.
  • Validate the generated rule and modify it based on the requirements.
  • Add the generated quality rule to the relevant assets and rule repository.
Note: To access this feature on specific pages, you must first enable it at the workspace level in the AI Manager.
For each recommended rule, the Gio™ AI Assistant provides:
  • Rule name
  • Rule description
  • Confidence score (0-100)
  • Expression for rule evaluation
  • Target asset names
  • Referenced similar rules
The Gio™ AI Assistant recommends actions when you initiate rule creation from the rules page. With this feature, you can create a generic rule in Data Integrity Suite for specific datasets or fields.
Tip: If Gio™ AI Assistant finds that a recommendation or query is relevant to several datasets or fields, it will ask you to specify which datasets or fields you want to apply the rule to. After you provide these details, Gio™ AI Assistant reviews the dataset or field and suggests suitable rules.
To create custom rules using Gio™ AI Assistant:
  1. Go to Quality > Rules.
  2. Launch Gio™ AI Assistant and select a recommended prompt to create a rule. Alternatively, enter your query in the chat window to create a custom rule for your requirements.
  3. Gio™ AI Assistant analyzes the rules that can be applied based on the entered input. If the rule can be applied to more than one dataset or field, Gio™ AI Assistant prompts you to enter the name of the dataset or field for which the rule must be applied.
  4. Once the dataset or field name is entered, Gio™ AI Assistant shows the asset details retrieved from the submitted information and provides details on why the specific dataset was recommended.
  5. Choose the asset and click Submit to confirm your selection for rule recommendations related to that specific asset.
  6. Gio™ AI Assistant analyzes details and recommends rules based on asset details, including its name, fields, semantic types, existing rules, and best practices from the knowledge base. It performs similarity searches to avoid duplicating existing rules and leverages AI to generate new rule recommendations.
  7. Gio™ AI Assistant displays a maximum of three recommended rules in the window.
  8. Mark the checkboxes corresponding to the generated rules you want to retain and click Apply Rules. The selected rules are then added to the application's rules page. If suggested rules do not meet your needs, click Reject to dismiss the recommendation.

Example: If your dataset includes contact numbers from different leads in the United States and you want to verify they follow a standard format, enter a query such as: "Create a rule to verify if the phone numbers from the Customer dataset follow the standard format of 1-NNN-NNN-NNNN."

Auto generate rule description

You can automatically generate rule descriptions by using defined rule parameters. Benefits are as folllows:
  • Promotes rule reuse: Provides clear and detailed explanations to help others understand your rules easily. When rules are well explained, they are easier to apply across different contexts, reducing duplication and improving efficiency.
  • Ensure consistency across your workspace: Use standardized language and formatting in rule descriptions to maintain uniformity. This reduces misunderstandings and ensures everyone interprets and implements rules the same way.
    Note: To use the auto generate rule description feature on the rules page, you must first enable the Generate Rule description functionality at the workspace level in the AI tab. If disabled, the Generate button will not appear in the rule creation interface. For more information, see AI.

To auto generate rule description:

  1. On the Rules page, click Create Rule.
  2. Enter the necessary rule parameters, including name and dimension. Provide a name that helps set context for the rule and select an appropriate dimension.
  3. Select the target datasets that have to be evaluated by the rule and define the pass conditions.
  4. Once all the parameters are defined, click Generate below the Description box to automatically generate the rule description.
    The application automatically generates a rule description based on defined rule parameters.
    Tip: Click Retry to regenerate the rule description. After each attempt, you can return to previous versions, review earlier descriptions, and select the one that best meets your requirements. You can use the Retry option up to five times. To access more options beyond this limit, refresh the page.

  5. Click Create to save the rule with the generated description and other details.

You can further refine the rule description after its initial generation.

To edit the generated rule description:

  1. On the Rules page, locate the desired rule, click the ellipsis, and select Edit.
  2. In the description box, click Generate to automatically produce a new rule description. The system will regenerate the rule description accordingly.

    If the AI-generated output doesn't meet your expectations, you may manually modify the rule description as needed to satisfy the specific requirements.
