The Business Assets page in Catalog is where you explore and manage business-oriented cataloged assets. You can view and interact with information about business assets, including their descriptions, governance scores, status, and related relationships.

To view business asset details, go to the Catalog and select a business asset. The details page displays information including descriptions, governance scores, status, and related relationships.

  1. Go to the Catalog > Business Assets.
    What's changed: In the new user experience, the Business Assets page appears as Business. For more information on the new experience, see About the new user experience.
    The list of business assets displays with search and filters, list view, card view, and actions menu options.
  2. Select Create Asset.
  3. Select an asset type and complete required and optional fields. If no suitable asset type exists, contact your administrator to create one.
  4. Select a business asset name to open its Details page. At the top of the page, you see the asset name along with key indicators:
    • Governance score: Shows the governance percentage when configured.
    • Status: Displays status such as "Certified" when configured.
  5. Review the main details page that includes:
    • Description: Narrative information about the business asset.
    • Asset Type: Specific type classification (for example, "Business Term", "Metric", "Glossary Item").
    • Tags: Categorization tags with options to edit.
    • Status: Current status of the business asset.
    • Owner: The person or team responsible for the business asset.
  6. Explore the secondary pages to view additional information about the business asset.
    • Relationships: Shows relationships between this business asset and technical assets or other business assets in the Catalog.
    • Change History: Shows a record of changes made to the business asset over time.
    • Rules, Scoring, and Assignments: View related information for the business asset.
  7. Use the search bar at the top of the page to search across the entire Catalog without leaving the business asset detail page.
    The search bar displays your recent searches and recently accessed assets. You can go directly to search results or specific assets from this interface. The search bar is available on all pages.
  8. Select the Edit button in the top-right corner to modify asset information, including description, tags, owner, and other metadata.
