Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse uses Azure Active Directory (AAD) for authentication.
Data Integrity Suite supports two authentication methods to connect to your
Lakehouse instance: Regular authentication and Key Vault authentication.
Table 1. Supported Authentication Methods
| Authentication method |
Description |
| Service Principal |
Authentication using a service principal registered in Microsoft
Entra ID.
- Tenant ID: The The Azure / Microsoft
Entra tenant ID associated with your Microsoft Fabric
workspace. This identifier is required to authenticate and
authorize access to your Lakehouse resources.
- Client ID: The application (client)
ID of your Azure app registration / service principal. This
ID is used for authentication and must have appropriate
permissions to access the Lakehouse.
- Client Secret: The client secret for
the Azure app registration. This credential is used to
authenticate the service principal and should be kept
confidential. The secret is masked in the UI for security
purposes.
