Create a continuous replication pipeline to facilitate real-time or near-real-time data synchronization between source and target systems. This pipeline involves configuring data flows and transformation rules to automatically replicate updates, deletions, and insertions from the source system to the target system. Ensure that the pipeline includes monitoring and error-handling mechanisms to maintain data integrity and availability throughout the replication process.
Within Data Integration, the Replication Setup wizard will guide you step-by-step to:
- General Setup: The initial step requires defining the pipeline’s name, description, replication type, and available options. This foundational information sets the context for the entire pipeline, enabling clear identification and configuration throughout its lifecycle.
- Connections: Next, you establish connections to the source and target systems. These connections are the backbone of the data transfer process, allowing the pipeline to retrieve data from the source and apply it to the target. Proper configuration of these connections is vital for seamless data flow.
- Source data configuration: Once connections are established, you will configure the source data by selecting specific tables or datasets for replication. Here, you can define conditions to refine your data selection, ensuring that only relevant information is transferred and optimizing performance.
- Configure mapping: In this step, you define how the fields in the source data correspond to those in the target data. Accurate mapping is critical to maintaining data integrity, ensuring that replicated data is correctly organized and accessible in the target system.
- View continuous replication summary: Finally, review and confirm all settings and configurations of the continuous replication pipeline. This includes verifying connections, examining source data selections, and ensuring accurate field mappings. Once satisfied with the configuration summary, you can create and activate the continuous replication pipeline, completing the setup process.
Create a continuous replication pipeline
To create a continuous replication pipeline:
- On the main navigation menu, select .
- Select the project that you want to use to create your continuous replication pipeline.
- Click +Create Pipeline to open the Create Pipeline wizard.
- Add the information for the name and description for a continuous replication pipeline.
- Click Next.
- Select a connection for Source and Target connections. Note: If Oracle is selected for Source connection, you need to create a metabase.
- Click Next.
- Select a schema and associated tables and click Next.
- Map the tables and click Next.
- View the information about the continuous pipeline, see the next step.
- Click Finish to return back to the Continuous replication pipelines page and view the list.
To view your list of continuous replication pipelines from the Replication Pipelines page, go to Integration > Continuous Replication > Select the project to view its pipeline
