An agent is a critical component of the Data Integrity Suite, designed to connect to datasources that are not accessible from the public Internet, such as those hosted in on-premises environments. It enables secure communication between your on-premises infrastructure and the Precisely Cloud, allowing the you to perform data processing within your own environment. As part of the environment setup, the agent must be created, installed, and configured to ensure seamless integration and secure handling of on-premises data sources.

You must have the Agent Manager role to create and install agents. A workspace admin user can assign this role from the Invite and manage users page.
Warning: If you do not have the agent manager role and attempt to create an agent, you will be redirected to the list of agents where you can view, but not manage, the agents.
Note:
  1. An agent can only be assigned to one workspace. It cannot be configured for multiple workspaces.
  2. If multiple agents are required for a single workspace, you will need to create a new virtual machine (VM) for each additional agent and configure each agent separately for the workspace.
